The Amelia Island Chapter, NSDAR, is based in Fernandina Beach in Nassau County, Florida, on historic Amelia Island — a barrier island in Northeast Florida and one of the few sites in the state with a verified Revolutionary War battle.

The chapter was organized on September 15, 1993, and officially chartered on February 28, 1995, with sixteen additional members joining during its founding years.
